Last Clock
A visual memory of the last 60 seconds, the last 60 minutes and the last 12 hours in a never-ending process
by Jussi Ängeslevä (concept design), Ross Cooper (concept design) & Danqing Shi (iOS developer)
Just like any analog clock, Last Clock has three hands: one for seconds, one for minutes and one for hours. The hands, however, are made of a slice of live video that gets scanned to the clockface. With different refresh rate for each hand, the three time circles reflect the rhythms of the space at different temporal resolutions.
It is possible to stream the last clock camera feed over the internet. Connecting to a meaningful remote location, one can see glimpses of the pace of the place together with the time, conveying a kind of presence without succumbing to surveillance.
